A Blog???

Today is the 3rd anniversary of the Hornet's suicide. He did this exactly two years and one day after I pressed charges. I still haven't cried about it, but I would like to. Weird.

If I write anything else, my first-ever blog post will officially consist of bullshit because I don't know what else to write. I'll get the hang of this though... watch me...

The end.

Go Back

Hi Maggie,
I am just reading 'My Firefly.' What you went through was so horrific. So thrilled you survived and are helping others. You are an amazing person and am so thankful you have lived to tell your story. God bless you in everything you do.

Love Julie

Hi Maggie,

I loved your autobiographical book "My Firefly" which was refreshingly raw and magically captivating. There is one, well two things I've wondered about. Do you really think that The Hornet was your biological father? And assuming your mother was a European immigrant, did she feel compelled by circumstances like being unregistered in the United States to allow the abuse? Not that anything excuses what your parents did, but I just never could work out The Hornet and The Peacock's motivations. You didn't deserve any of it.

Cheers, Iris

Dear Maggie,

Cheering you on from Alabama! Your book My Firefly brought on the tears for me. I thank you for being brave enough to share your story.

My Firefy shines a light into the darkness and taboo of the horrendous abuse suffered behind closed doors. The Hornet. What an appropriate name.

Can't wait to see what you write for us next! Thank you for your courage and bravery. Your wise words inspired me. I will be forever grateful.

I read "My Firely" as a group and admittedly was thrown for a loop that the house told the story, which made a great debate topic. At first I believed it to be deliberate vagueness, because the story was in fact fiction and could not be corroborated by dates and locations or people. I am very happy to have stumbled upon your website to see that you chose to file charges for the horrific atrocities committed in your book. Your father/stepfather's suicide tells me that something indeed happened and he knew he was going to jail if he stayed in the United States(or Canada maybe?). You were very brave to bring such sickening torture to the light and hopefully we will hear Maggie's voice in future works.

Sincerely, Morgana

Please tell me that there will be a follow up to 'My Firefly' soon! I am dying to know the rest of the story. Suicide? What a coward!

I just finished "Firefly" last evening. I am so sorry you had to suffer at the hands of monsters. You are such a strong woman to overcome all the horrible things you went through.
I wish you the best in all you do and happiness in your heart.
